The weekend of the 6th and 7th of March 2021 saw our first UMHA event held since this time last year due to Covidv19, let’s hope we have climbed the hill on that one and we can move forward.
Our first event, as it always is, was run in conjunction with the Tallangatta show at our home grounds. The weather was fantastic, and it was great to catch up with a lot of old faces and meet some new ones after our 12 month force isolation. Thanks Covid.
Thanks to all our cattle donors, I won’t name you all for fear of missing one. However, I will say this, we cannot thankyou enough for your ongoing support, without you, we would not be able to enjoy this sport and our magnificent grounds.
To all our sponsors, Blacklocks Isuzu, Blacklocks Jag / Land Rover, Walsh Wodonga, Moondyne Cutting horses, Abbey Webb, Jack’s on Olive, Tallangatta Bakery, Reece Murray transport. Thank you all for your ongoing support, without our sponsors, it makes it very difficult to coordinate and run events such as these.
To all our winners and place getters – Congratulations on a great effort. It was evident that you had all been ready and waiting for this event and the skill and horseman’s level had not dropped over our break.

The fastest time for the weekend was hotly contested. However, in the end it was won by the Misty Warriors – Pete Morrison, Brian Caldwell and Brooke Evans with a 23.51 second run for 3 head yarded.
Finally, our next UMHA team yarding event is at Myrtleford at the end of April and I must say, I can’t wait!
So until then, stay safe and I look forward to seeing you all in the not to distant future.
